Painted Tumbled Marble

Painted tumbled marble. So although i m not crazy about the medium i love the idea of painting in india ink. Don t confuse chalk paint with chalkboard paint which creates a surface that mimics a chalkboard and allows you to write on it with chalk and remove your jottings with an eraser. Just want to be sure. Allow six weeks or longer.
Wanting an interim solution the goal is to eventually do subway tile to update the tile and not wanting to spend a dollar to do it i painted my tumbled stone backsplash and guess what. Apply a soft wax over the painted marble if you wish. Some recommend priming and oil based paint others just milk paint. The only thing you would be achieving would be to change the colour of the marble but you would end up with a very ugly backsplash.

Painting in ink reminds me of chinese ink painted furniture from the qing dynasty. This was a paint i had left over from another project so i was able to. When you paint it it will still look like tumbled marble because of the texture but the finish on it will not be authentic. Tumbled marble has a specific unique texture which is unlike any other.
