The resins within the timber contain oils that are both water resistant and repellent to insect attacks.
Eucalyptus will weather to a silvery finish over time unless treated 2 3 times a year with outdoor furniture oil. For deeper cleaning at the start and finish of each season or in the instance of tougher stains or mold you can scrub with a soft brush and a mix of water and dishwasher detergent or oxygen bleach.
