Oreck Vacuum Hard To Push On Carpet

The suction on a vacuum is meant to lift dirt particles out of the fibers but if it is placed too close to the carpet backing it can actually lift the carpet slightly off the padding underneath.

My oreck has become very hard to push across carpet if it pushed easily on the same carpet before then the brushroll is no longer contacting the carpet it used to. Try the belt first much cheaper 015 012 015 012if you have recent. Any frieze or shag carpets can start to rap around the roller brush due to the long length and make the vacuum very hard to push. There is an attachment available for this called the pile attachment the cost is 10 99 at your local oreck store it just clicks on the bottom of the vacuum and prevents the carpet from rapping around the brush. It s been great but recently has become hard to push.
