Orange stain marble tile. Many white marble tiles contain naturally occurring deposits of iron. Lastly paint stains are another hazard that marble surfaces face. Iron is a mineral found in stone and can occur randomly throughout the stone. If water leaches into the core of the marble tile and contacts these deposits the iron will rust and bleed to the surface causing brown orange or yellow spots marble stains.
If water remains on the surface for hours it could absorb enough to rust. Marble tile is less expensive than marble slab. The stain will typically be the color of the paint that made it. Substances such as lemon juice orange juice and wine can cause your marble to etch.
Usually the problem occurs in showers and on floors because there is water under or behind the tiles. White marble often has deposits of iron. Re apply the poultice as necessary if the stain wasn t absorbed and leave it for more than 1 day if the stain is particularly deep set. Marble tiles have a different structure and makeup to other tiles and although bleach and hydrogen peroxide generally work marble poultice is specially made to clean this material.
The first cause is mold which develops from the combination of moisture and warmth in the bathroom. If iron is present in the marble tile it will begin to oxidize when exposed to water or other oxidizers such as acids or household bleach. Answer answer orange or rust like staining in stone can be caused by minerals within the stone or sometimes because the stone is in close proximity of metal. If these deposits are exposed to water they can rust and leach through to the surface causing the yellow brown stains.
Now the marble would have to get somewhat saturated for this to happen. Iron can stain the bathtub and other light colored fixtures that the water touches. Most of them can be removed with a marble poultice. Each one of these above stains have a unique method of removal.
Because marble is porous you should clean spills immediately or you run the risk of the stone developing stains. White marble tile especially carrara marble can contain small deposits of iron. This is a material made from a porous solid and a solvent some sort of liquid to form a paste type material that has the consistence of cake icing or peanut butter. And new marble floor tile.
