High Gloss Laminate Vs Acrylic
Acrylic finish is also non toxic and is in fact quite similar to lacquer.
High gloss laminate vs acrylic. Hi gloss laminates do catch finger marks as well as scratches like other hi gloss surfaces. It can add visual space and an inviting appeal to your kitchen while laminates are available in glossy options these are not as reflective as an acrylic finish. Laminate cabinets are also available in gloss finish but the look is dull less reflective and less striking as compared to acrylic cabinets. And they add a visual appeal to your kitchen.
Laminates have less gloss in comparison to acrylic. Though laminates are also available in a glossy finish they are comparatively less reflective leaving the overall look less striking. Acrylic cabinets are preferred for high end kitchens with a gloss finish. Also as with acrylic the use of hi gloss laminates is limited to plane straight line applications.
Therefore matte finish laminates which are comparatively maintenance free are often preferred for the kitchen. Matching edge bands are not available for the entire range and personally that has been one of my biggest complaints with the laminate manufacturers. Dirt stains and fingerprints are easily visible on gloss finish laminates. It has an extremely smooth texture and gives your cabinets a mirror like appearance.
